The Lazy Genius Way
Kendra Adachi
By far, this is one of my top ten books to date and Kendra is one of my absolute favorite authors!!
I love it so much because Kendra is not telling us "how to" do anything; not how to live our life, make our decisions, or keep our calendars. That doesn't work for everyone, and she gets that. Instead, her book includes 13 Lazy Genius Principles that we can use as more of a filter in our everyday lives. You can use one principle at a time, a few, or all thirteen, whatever suits you.
I read this book for the first time in 2021, and I still find myself using her principles every single day! Truly, this book was a lifechanger for me, especially as a mom. I wish I had this book much sooner in life.
As Kendra says, "Be a genius on the things that matter, and lazy on the things that don't."
Podcast Reviews
Redemption to the Nations
Bishop Kevin Wallace
Redemption to the Nations Church is based out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Their podcast is the sermon portion of their Sunday & Wednesday services.
Bishop Wallace and his wife have many years of ministry experience and always bring an anointed message. This is a podcast I regularly keep up with. It is a great way to start your Monday with a word from God. They bring wisdom and encouragement that is certainly relevant to today's culture.
Life Changers
The biggest water bottle I could find
Seriously! One of the problems with moms is that we are trying to keep up with it all while being dehydrated. One of the best things you can do for yourself is to stay hydrated.
I used to carry a small water bottle, but it was never enough. Depending on where you are, it is hard to find a place to refill. And what a pain it is to constantly be filling up. Small bottles make it easy to lose track of how many times you did refill each day. Was it enough?
When I found a metal water bottle that was 2 liters, the only one on the shelf in my favorite color, and it was only $10, I saw that as my sign to snatch it.
I take it with me everywhere. Sometimes it is my main bottle, like when I am at work. Other times it's just my refill for a smaller one, like while hiking.
We need to take care of ourselves in every possible way, mind, body, soul, all the way down to a cellular level. A massive water bottle helps me remember how much water I have (or have not) already drunk today and encourages me to keep hydrating.
